Our Services

Tides Family Services provides a vast array of programs devoted to maintaining high-risk youth in the community by supporting and strengthening families and helping youth remain in school. Our mission is to provide every youth with proper support from parents and caregivers. We never reject a youth or family. We never give up on a kid…Never! To accomplish our mission, Tides has developed a broad spectrum of family services called the Preserving Families Network (PFN).

Services include but are not limited to:

  • Juvenile Justice Support- Re entry programs
  • Wayward Youth Assessments/Article 23
  • Programs for parenting and/or pregnant teens

Outreach and Tracking

An intensive community based program which includes a 24 hour, 7 day per week crisis management. This program calls upon Tides staff to make evening home visits.  Its goal is family preservation and school completion.

Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST)

An intensive, evidence-based, family-focused treatment program that addresses all of the known determinants of serious anti-social behavior in adolescents and families.

Youth Transition Center (YTC)

The YTC is a unique collaboration between Tides Family Services and the Dept. Children, Youth and families (DCYF).  

YTC Serves females and males ages 13-18 living in Providence or nearby Cranston, Pawtucket and Central Falls, who are on probation or eligible for early release from the Rhode Island Training School. 

Youth referred are high risk to be probation violators, repeat offenders, and those who return to the RITS.

Alternative Education

Tides operates three storefront school locations with classrooms for students who have IEP’s (Individual Education Plans) and who have been unsuccessful in traditional educational settings. By providing these locations for the youth, Tides enables them to redirect their path from one of failure to success.

Educational Advocacy

When students and their families are not being provided needed services, Tides partners with Educational Advocates of Rhode Island to obtain those services. Should barriers arise, Educational Advocates provide consultation and legal assistance.

Home Based Clinical Services

These are intensive treatment programs that are family focused and designed to address specific areas of client growth. These services are delivered by clinicians and behavioral assistants in the home several hours a week.

Fee for Services Clinical Counseling

These are intensive treatment programs that are family focused and designed to address specific areas of client growth. These services are delivered by clinicians and behavioral assistants in the home several hours a week.

Youth Outreach Program (YOP)

Tides Family Services Youth Outreach Program provides individual, family, and group counseling as well as crisis intervention services for Kent County, Providence, Pawtucket, and Central Falls for females and males ages 9-18.

Youth Success 2

Youth Success 2 works with pregnant and/or parenting young adults on goals towards self-sufficiency. 

Family Care Community Partnership (FCCP)- Urban Core

The major purpose of the FCCP as established by DCYF is to promote activities at the community level designed to strengthen and support families who are at risk for becoming, or are, involved with DCYF.
